魚拓は魚の大きさや釣り上げた年月日を記録するために生み出された日本の文化です。

松永 正津は50年以上の試行錯誤の末に大きさだけを残す「記録魚拓」を色彩・構図・遠近にこだわった「アート魚拓」へと進化させました。

「一瞬を拓す」という想いから「直接法」という一発勝負の技法にこだわり、魚体から紙をはがした後は目玉以外の加筆・修正は一切行いません。

紙をはがした後の小ジワや色抜けが「直接法」の個性であり、複製できない1枚限りの作品と出会える「一期一会」も面白さの1つです。

We are selling and intoroducing gyotaku art pieces by the late artist Matsunaga Masatsu.

Gyotaku is a Japanese tradition that originated to record the size of fish and the date they were caught.
After over 50 years of trial and error, Matsunaga Masatsu evolved gyotaku from simply recording size to creating "art gyotaku" that focuses on color, composition, and perspective.

With the idea of "capturing a moment," he insisted on using the "direct method," a one-shot technique where he wouldn't touch up or correct the gyotaku after peeling the paper off the fish, except for the eyes.
The small wrinkles and color fading after peeling are the characteristics of the "direct method," making each piece a unique, one-of-a-kind work that cannot be replicated.
